Q. Please tell us about yourself. What brought you to your current position?
After graduate school, I worked in a small laboratory, where I used a number of products. The first instruments and software I was responsible for purchasing were the Waters LCs with the Waters chromatography data system. Eager to work with the industry leader, I took on a role that allowed me to work directly with scientists in various capacities across their companies.
Spending most of my time in regulated laboratories, I quickly gained a passion for all things compliance and quality. I went on to use that knowledge to educate our customers and employees around the world. When the opportunity came up to be part of the Empower™ product team, I had to pinch myself because I had spent so much of my career with the Empower™ software in various capacities.
Q. What is your favorite part of the work you’ve done in this field?
I love helping people. Delivering engaging educational experiences is something that is near and dear to my heart. Marry that with talking about quality and I am truly on cloud nine.
Q. What is your talk about?
My talk is titled “Simplified Data Governance: Risk and Vigilant Monitoring.” It aims to cover the key elements of data governance, things to consider, and what is unique about vigilant monitoring…you will hear me use the words “current,” “critical,” and “risk” more than once!
Q. Why do you think it’s important to discuss this topic with our audience?
It is critical to focus on the current expectations of life sciences organizations as they strive for quality management maturity. This means doing away with data and validation approaches used in the 1900s and embracing advanced and robust methods.
